Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in America

Centering Race Consortium (CRC)

Formed in 2020, The Centering Race Consortium is a multi-university partnership sponsored by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation that centers the study of race in the arts and humanities through a combination of research and artistic practice.

The CRC is a group of four race centers at Brown University, Yale University, Stanford University, and the University of Chicago. The four member centers – all of whom are partners on a Mellon Foundation Grant – collaborate to produce events, sponsor fellowships, and support research across disciplines on their home campuses and in their communities.
